Kreative Kidz Art Camps

Monday-Friday, 10a.m.-1p.m.
Ages 7-11


In this camp, kidz will be introduced to the foundations of art including simplified concepts of the elements of design and composition as well as techniques in a variety of mediums. Kidz will also focus on process and discovery of materials, as well as exploration of trial and error and cause and effect. Kidz will take home at least one-two unique and original projects per week showcasing their limitless creativity!


At the end of the week, students will have an exhibit with reception to showcase their work!


Each weeks camp has unique projects so do 1 week or both!

Kidz will enjoy instructor and artist Christi Parks' high energy and excitement as she shares her love of art along with fun and simple concepts and techniques in the basics of drawing, painting and mixed media.


Christi received her BFA with an emphasis on painting from Texas State University. She is a professional, award winning artist who specializes in colorful abstract and landscape paintings. She is employed as an artist and designer by Minted.com and runs her own jewelry business GEO+GEM. Christi has experience teaching children and is a mom of 2. She is passionate about art and excited about sharing her knowledge with others.

Comics and Sequential Art Camp

June 18th-22nd, 2018(This Camp is Full)

Ages: 12-16

Have your kids or grandkids join us at Glynn Visual Arts this summer for one of our  FUN one week summer camps! Kids will create their own comic book characters, develop a story line and draw comics. At the end, Professor Pendarvis will compile all the stories and drawings into a comic book that will then be published and available online on Amazon for sale!


Comic Book Camp is lead by Professor Bob Pendarvis. Bob is the co-founder of Savannah College of Art and Design’s (SCAD) Sequential Art Department and is recognized for his accomplishments as an educator and an inspired cartoonist. He has published Sugar Ninjas, a cartoon anthology as well as several other cartoon compilations. He is frequently a guest panelist and expert at comic book fan conferences including Middle Georgia Comic Con, Jekyll Island Comic Con, MomoCon Anime Convention in Atlanta, GA and more.


If students have their own sketching materials they may bring them to camp.  Bob Pendarvis will also have materials available for students to use.

Clay & Collage Camp

            10: a.m. - 1 p.m.

Children will explore three dimensional art through the process of working with clay the first part of the week. They will finish the week with two dimensional discovery using FUN paper collage! Students will work in clay Monday and Tuesday--while their work is drying and fired in the kiln on Wednesday, they will work on a collage activity.  On Thursday and Friday they will use collage techniques to finish their clay projects and complete them on Friday.

This art camp is about "process" and cannot accommodate drop-in students.

The art camp is open to ages 7 through middle school.

Week long camp Monday – Friday (no drop-ins)
Class size 6-min. & 12-max.

Koi Puppetry Camp
Instructor: Julia Hill
Ages: 11-15
June 11th -15th, 2018
10 a.m. - 1 p.m.


Join us for a fun, creature filled puppetry camp.Inspired by Japanese koinobori flags, attendees will create koi puppets using fabric and puppet making materials. We will learn about pattern making, symmetry, and symbolism. Final presentation will be a swimming school of fish presented outdoors as a live installation.  

Julia Hill's work incorporates many genres, including performance, installation, puppetry, metal fabrication, carpentry, ceramics, drawing and painting. Her large-scale puppets have been performed at The High Museum, The World of Coca-Cola, The Atlanta Zoo, The Hambidge Center, The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, and beyond.

Julia also enjoys hosting skill share sessions and leading a wide variety of creative hands-on workshops for all ages at festivals, special events, and in the classroom.

Large Creature Puppetry Camp

Ages: 7-10

10 a.m. -1p.m.

Attendees will design their own large creature puppets based on templates and the final class will be a parade of animals puppeteered by the students!
