Sue grew up in Rochester, New York and graduated from Sweet Briar College with a degree in history. Prior to her retirement in 2003, she was Project Manager for Construction Data Control, Inc. in Atlanta for 18 years. CDCI is a software developer producing accounting and estimating systems for builders. Prior to that she worked for Georgia State University (Atlanta) and the American Psychological Association (Washington, DC).
Since retiring to SAINT Simons Island, she has been an active volunteer in numerous local organizations starting with the Island Newcomers Club for which she served as President. Thereafter, Sue served as a Director and President of both the Symphony Society and the Coastal Symphony of Georgia, Inc. She presided over the St. Simons Library League (now the St. Simons Island Literary Guild) and currently serves on the boards of the St. Simons Island Public Library Support Fund, the Cassina Garden Club, the Symphony Society, as well as Glynn Visual Arts.
Sue and her husband Chuck have one son, Charles III, daughter-in-law, Donna and three grandchildren: William, Elizabeth and Catherine who live in Chattanooga. Kasper, a 3 year old English Cream Golden Retriever happily resides with them in East Beach.
