unexpected beauty

Award-winning Atlanta-based artist Kathy Rennell Forbes is repurposing art to create Unexpected Beauty in her nature-themed solo show May 5 - June 12. Forbes reveals her newest obsession in creating vibrant, joyful art from unwanted or unfinished pieces otherwise left to wither. She uses mixed media watercolors on repurposed, hand-made watercolor paper adhered to canvases and panels.

Glynn Visual Arts invites artists to participate in an exciting collaborative project to be exhibited at the College of Coastal Georgia in conjunction with the Smithsonian Institution’s Museum on Main Street Program, Voices and Votes: Democracy in America.

We are looking for your artistic vision of the roll of an active, informed citizen in our democracy and the importance of voting and freedom of speech in America. Submissions must be received by August 15, 2026.
